Hampton Men's Leather Belts with Innovative Contempo Ratchet Belt Buckle

My husband is so picky, he is an old school biker that really doesn't like anything new , just set in his ways. Well, he saw one of those corney infomercials for a click belt and thought it was kinda cool, shockingly. Anyway I found one here on Amazon and thought , what the Hell, there was a chance he may actually wear it. Much to my surprise , he loved it! This was a few years ago, yes this review is on the second one I just bought for him which he loves also. He wore that belt out wearing it every day, day after day for 3 years. He ignored all his old belts. It finally wore out and he was so upset. This new one I bought is the exact same great quality of the last one and he is happy again. It's a well made belt and it looks great also..even when he is covered in oil and grease. He loves how when he is bent over an engine or bike that it doesn't jab him in the stomach, plus in the evening after dinner , he can loosen it just a bit, easily with little effort. I highly recommend this belt.

I purchased my first belt well over a year ago and another shortly thereafter. Before purchasing, I read several reviews and noted that some people considered it difficult to release the buckle. It was really very easy after the first couple of times - all it takes is easing the tension on the buckle and bushing the release button on the lower part of the buckle. I was concerned about the wear and tear of the ratchets and so far there is no noticeablewear. Don't worry about order too long a belt(as I did)- it is very easy to cut to your desired length and refitting the belt into the buckle was very easy. Just make sure you have a sharp cutting tool. I especially like the small adjustment you can make with the ratchets(approx.1/4 inch) which makes for a very comfortable fit. This was my exposure to a ratchet belt and believe me I will never return to belts with holes. As to quality the leather does not show any sign of wear, is very supple and feels strong. The buckle does have any scratches and still has a new look to it. I am sure there are other belts on the market like the Hampton but I think it would be hard to fine one with the same quality for the price of the belt. I am very hqppy with both belts.

This series of belts are a departure from original belts in the best way possible! There are no holes... I know this is obvious, but I never realized how awful belt holes were until I got 2 of these. Holes in belts tend to stretch and kink the belt. Having the belt depend on one or two holes causes the entire tightening force to act only on those two holes. If you have to switch to other holes (due to overeating, weight loss, or just comfort), there is now a kink in the belt and an elongated hole that is exposed making the belt look less appealing.With these belts, the force of holding is spread across the leather by the ratcheting system, which doesn't cause stretching at all. Even further, there are no holes so you can ratchet the belt or loosen it to the nearest quarter inch by either pulling it tighter or clicking the release. This action looks like you are simply touching your belt, there's no need to undo you belt to switch to another misshapen hole.

I bought this belt to match my son's shoes. (Trying to teach the teen son how to match clothes. It's been fun. lol) The belt came on time, and in a nice, sturdy box. I'd happily gift the belt in that box. Really, it was packaged well. Easy to understand instructions, if you are new to the world of ratchet belts. Teen boy loved it so much that he asked me to buy a few more in other colors.

This belt seems well made. The leather seems of good quality, and the buckle is heavy and solid. The ratchet mechanism works smoothly, and you can adjust it so the belt is at just the right tension. The belt is easy to cut and secures very well in the buckle, so it is very simple to get a belt that is exactly the right length. The only negative was getting the hang of the ratchet release, as it is a little fussy, but works fine once you get used to it. The only uncertainty is how the belt will hold up. The buckle looks rock solid, so no worries there, but how will the leather look in a few months? Not sure, but I will update this with the results. It is very reasonably priced. and it looks good! I bought two - one black and one brown. Recommended!

The belt was great up until about 4 months ago. At that point, it began to seize up, so that I started to have "close calls" (with regard to certain biological functions) while wearing it. I guess all the wrenching to try to open the buckle was hard on it, because the two pins that hold the belt together came out last week. I also discovered a split between the leather and whatever the other material the belt is composed of.Is 3.5 good years out of it enough to say that this belt is a good buy? I don't know. This was the first one I ever had.

I purchased my first belt from them about 4 years ago. I managed to break the buckle recently and was disappointed because the leather was still in immaculate condition, which I thought was incredible because other leather belts I've owned usually only last a year or so. The seller worked with me to replace the buckle despite that not being a product offering. I can't see myself ever going back to a normal belt after using ratcheting belts, and will certainly purchase from this seller in the future when I need a new belt.
