Review: A total legend writes a legendary book - So I've been following Ross on social media ever since I began weight training, his physique is just outrageous so it helped to motivate with climbing iron ladder to a lifestyle of heavy lifting (this now, 6 years ago). His fitness endeavours never cease to amaze me and he's still doing them now! This puts me in a very biased position, after all, he is a total legend! However, I have spent a lot of time sifting through the broscience, reading literature and tweaking/playing with training programmes/principles. Which means I kind of know a lot of the contents of the book. And to be honest, this was a massive relief/reassurance. His book contains the info needed to develop YOUR own training for YOUR goals, which is what the fitness industry doesn't do. Ross is literally giving you the tools to make programmes which 1) are specific to you -- you chose them after all all 2) enjoyable -- again, you chose 3) keep you motivated -- who chose them? ... You did 4) can be tweaked whenever you like and switched up if you change goals -- I think you're getting my point here. This'll make it harder for the newbies because it's easier to follow BS workouts in magazines/fitness role models than to develop your own training, however, if you've been there done that and now taking your fitness into your own hands: it's perfect! His journey is incredibly interesting, the handful of recipes are very interesting, he provides workout templates etc which I won't use since I no longer weight lift and do purely gymnastics strength bases/skill training, it's a very good and easy read! Only problems are: he's spent 10+ years trying and testing and making all the mistakes which he learnt from. You (you reading this) need to have made loads of mistakes and wasted time training pointlessly to really appreciate the depth of this book and how the principles truly define real training. I've given it 4 stars because I know I'm incredibly biased, I also already know most of whats inside the book, however, learnt a handful of very interesting things. Definitely worth buying, especially for the training principles and also to realise just how much the human body is really capable of. Actually, I've changed my mind, he's too awesome, I'm giving him 5 stars :'D

I really enjoyed this book, which is full of information about training and nutrition. It would be useful for a beginner or expert in the field to broaden their knowledge. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Read

Hugely respect Ross - tremendous athlete. Inspirational, informative and entertaining book. You will certainly pick up some golden nuggets of information but IMHO would benefit from including a section for training for 'real people', i.e. those not employed as a fitness journalist. All-in-all a very inspirational and good resource book based on a solid foundation but not really that practical for the 'rest of us' (if that was Ross' intent) unless you have some knowledge and experience to apply the info into your own schedule.
