The factory Briggs and Stratton manual will tell you what to do. In lieu of that, the top screw should be about 1/2 turn out from the lightly seated position and adjusted out more only if it won’t idle. The lower screw should be set at 1 1/2 turns out from lightly seated position. Adjust 1/4 turn in either direction to get to a point where it doesn’t surge. Tightening usually leans the mixture so tighten till it surges and back out until it runs smoothly. Above all, make sure the fuel tank is clean and dry before you add fresh gas and replace the fuel line also. **Q: Someone stated about needing the two M6 screw but anyone know what size?** A: Length? 18M is 3/4 of an inch, 24M is close to an inch. So measure the old ones for length, and by the equivalent metric. (M6 is a size, like a quarter inch bolt.) **Q: Is this car waranteed if there is a problem.** A: You're probably not going to love this carburetor. It's definitely a little short, less long, and had metric threads. I'm usually a big fan of cheap replacement carbs, but I bought another rebuild kit for my old carb and I'm going to try it again. It just doesn't fit well enough. **Q: Says pre-adjusted at factory - but is it adjustable if needed?** A: Yes and most likely you will see to adjust slightly. The high speed adjust meant in the bottom screw on a 45degree angle.
