This company is the real deal. Be ready for a little back-and-forth to confirm your order. They double check to make sure they understand exactly how your windows are configured and that you are ordering the correct size & mounting hardware. That's especially good since these are not cheap. That said, my local widow shade shop quoted a price 3x as high, and was going to need 6 weeks to deliver. We ordered 3 of the top & bottom opening blackout shades for our bedroom for privacy (lots of choices now on which parts of which window to cover), perfect dark at night for best sleep, and looks. They are simple and expensive looking. As a silly side note, the action in the springs is strangely fun to move. Read the directions on "put the shade down, then up" to get a smooth slide up when you open them-it's weirdly fun.I was a little confused to start on the install for my window configuration (they will send mounts for whatever your window needs) but it was super simple once I got going. I did make a little cardboard jig to place each top mount in exactly the right place to have all 3 blinds hang flush with the surrounding wall. Also when they email you for confirmation on your order, you might want to send a picture of the window opening- and your dog if you have one, they liked that:) I am ordering a translucent shade for the bathroom next.

7 MONTH UPDATE: We've had these blinds for 7 months now, and we LOVE them! They are still in brand new condition, and I raise and lower them, or adjust them for the sun, multiple times per day. They are holding up perfectly and look fantastic. Everyone that comes in comments on how great they look. Also, this company provides top-notch customer service and follow-up. Highly recommend!----------These are attractive shades at a reasonable price. The ones from Home Depot were going to cost three times as much. To be straightforward, these are not as heavy duty (thick fabric) as the ones from Home Depot. If you are rough on things or have kids that swing from the curtains, then these are probably not the best choice. But if you are basically normal in how you handle raising and lowering them (not jerking on them), then they seem like they will hold up good. I've had them up for a month and they are working smoothly and look great.The outside is white for all colors, so from outside your house it has a uniform look. I ordered the room darkening ones, and they keep the room very dark. I also installed them on the outside of the window casing, not inside, which helps with room darkening. The top-down-bottom-up feature is really great for letting in the light while maintaining privacy, or they can open all the way like regular shades.They were easy to install, I hung them myself in one day, 19 windows. I really like that they just raise and lower by pulling up or down on the handle - no strings to pull on. They have strings that the shades slide up and down on, but you never need to touch the strings. They are only visible in the "top-down" position, and are very unobtrusive.I was able to request color samples before I ordered, and they promptly mailed them out. They are also great about sizing. There are so many sizes to choose from, I found what I needed without a custom order. But they will make your size up to 1/8".

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these blinds. This is the 3rd time we have ordered from you. We bought two sets for our son's room, then bought the light filtering for our kitchen and now we bought 4 light blocking for our bedroom. They look great and block out the light fantastically. The light blocking really keep my son's room from getting hot from the late afternoon sun. I think they will also keep out drafts in the cooler weather. The blinds glide up and down well. We got a shorter length for our bedroom and I am very pleased. I have recommended them to my friends and I am going to send the link to my friend who also thought the blinds looked great and loved the function of being able to block out the bottom of the window and be able to keep the light on top. I also loved that I received an email shortly after ordering to verify the measurements and offer to fit them within 1/8 inch. Great!

The second set of blinds I ordered were a matched pair to fit a window with an AC unit on one side. I was able to measure the full distance then do the Custom Order bit to put in the exact measurements (NO GAPS, just order a size larger than you need). The blinds we received fit PERFECTLY. I should also mention they are sturdy and extremely easy to install. If I could choose more stars for First Rate Blinds, I would.No, they aren't paying me to say this, they are 2/2 for perfect orders (although delayed due to COVID) and have themselves a loyal customer ;)

Shades block all the light, blind was cut precisely to window width. Since it fit so well, the room was nearly pitch black during full daytime - perfect.Bottom up/top down mechanism works well - easy to shade bottom half of window for privacy while still letting light in from the top half.

This is an amazing product. When closed my room is completely dark, and they open easily from either the top or bottom. The really excellent thing is the customer service. After you order, they confirm the exact sizes needed. The pricing is by range, but they will make any size you need. My blind arrived with shipping damage, but they fixed it immediately with zero hassle.

These seem sturdy and were not difficult to put up. They come with plastic clips for the top and bottom rail so that is what you use to pull the blind up or down. The material is vinyl- like instead of the deer/ cloth that these usually come in. I like this material better as it will be easier to clean. These come with a small tab at the top that you pull open so it releases the blind from the top piece so they can be taken down and easily cleaned. I just put these up about a week ago, so I cannot speak to how durable they will be after multiple uses.They do a good job of blocking light, but some light will still seep around the edges. They are fine for me for at night.

Great product. Looks awesome.

Bought these around December, they’ve already broken. One of the strings inside snapped and it hangs lopsided. Followed care instructions, no kids have touched it. Looked nice until then. Very disappointed.

Great product, easy to order custom, and a fraction of the cost of the box stores.
