I thought that the reading part was going to be able to use a bulb of my choice. But it is another led type. I was wanting to put a grow light in the one that angles down. I think I need to return it and go looking for what I had in mind. Review: "Bulb" not replaceable - This low-cost light is attractive and sturdy enough. However, it does not use standard bulbs and the LED piece is not replaceable per the manufacturer's comments. They are supposed to last 10 years. When mine failed four months after purchase (and beyond desertcart's return deadline), I thought I would be out of luck. When I posted my issue here, I received an immediate response from the manufacturer. They shipped me a replacement lamp at no cost. While I am not sure if the lamp will last 10 years, at least the company made it right for me. *The replacement lasted about two months before one of the LED's died.
