Instead of scraping, I add a bit of water to a slightly warm surface first, to loosen the residue, making cleaning easier and reducing the risk of scratches. For tough stains, soaking first helps, and the grime comes off easily. The whitish film after cleaning burnt-on food is often mineral residue. Using multiple applications of Cerama Bryte works well. After cleaning, I wipe with a water-vinegar mix to break down deposits and residue. Finishing with a dry cloth and polish keeps my cooktop clean and shiny. While Cerama Bryte works well for me when appropriately used, no product is perfect or completely foolproof. The claim that it “Removes Tough Stains” may not be accurate for all situations. While it might work on some stains, “Tough” can be subjective. Old stains may not come off entirely with this product alone.
