Some years ago, I purchased this size for my 20 yr old , and he he used it right away- the larger size also helps an older cat maneuver a bit easier- my younger cats actually prefer it to their standard boxes- **Q: On the jumbo box, what is the (l x w) dimension? i want to put a pad holder inside so the walls will prevent my dog from peeing outside the pad.** A: The walls are low. You can definitely put a pad in it, but I don’t think it will prevent pee from going over the side. I used it for an elderly cat. There were many litter box issues as she was declawed (came that way). I put pads around this box too which worked for me. Good luck. **Q: Is this too tall for a bunny?** A: I feel that a bunny would be able to get in and out ok, but what worked for me, using it for my three-legged kitty, is that kitty litter is so heavy it made the pan really stable. If you use something lighter for litter I'm not sure how tippy it might become. It does take up a lot of space so it worked well for us in a 48" crate or outside the crate! **Q: What kind of litter do you put in the pan? Is there a specific kind?** A: Hi! Any paper based litter works fine. Petco Dog litter, Second Nature Dog Litter or any other small animal or cat litter that is paper based, newspaper recycled. You don't want cat litter that is small particles...may bother the puppies paws. The larger pieces of litter result in less tracking than the smaller shape. The small piece litter is more absorbent..too much information??? Yesterday's News cat litter and Marshall Pet makes ferret litter that works.
