This seems surprising to me, because it hangs on me to just below my collar bones. So, yes, short, but not a choker.I also have VERY sensitive skin and I get rashes from things that I shouldn't sometimes, even gold. No problems with this. I slept in it and I have no irritation. The clasp and chain also seem fairly durable considering it's delicate size.I originally ordered this thinking I'd gift it too my friend, but it was so cute I HAD to keep it!
