It's pretty straight. I tie my hair in a high ponytail for working out, like zumba or personal training. With other holders, even though they advertise that they don't break your hair, my hair was breaking to the point my hair was uneven at the neckline. So I bought these, and I'm not sure I like them. True, when I remove the holder, there is no broken hair stuck to it. BUT I have to wrap the holder 3-4 times in order for it to stay in place, and it still doesn't hold my hair...I am constantly adjusting it. I am not able to wrap it a 5th time. With the holders that break my hair, I'd wrap the holder twice, maybe three times, and it would stay in place no problem. I don't think it's worth the effort to return them.
