Below we have some basic care for your plant: Direct sunlight can burn the leaves of most plants unless the plant has been acclimated slowly to that type of light. It is best to place the plant in a spot that receives some morning sun but light afternoon shade. Ideal places are a window with a sheer curtain, a patio with a screen, or other similar areas. It is recommended to water the plant once every 7 to 10 days and adjust for your environment as needed. The soil takes longer to dry in cooler temperatures and dries out quicker in warmer temperatures. Be sure to water the plant thoroughly enough that water begins to drain from the drainage hole. Always check to see if the soil is dry about 2 inches deep with your finger before watering. Do not let the plant sit in any standing water for an extended amount of time. It is possible that while the top part of the soil is drying out that the bottom can still retain moisture. This can lead to accidental overwatering. You can check farther into the soil with a wooden bamboo skewer (or use a plant moisture meter). Simply place the skewer as deeply as you can and let it sit for about 15 minutes or so. Pull the skewer out and check for any dampness on the wooden skewer. If the skewer is damp, the soil is still moist farther into the pot. While misting the leaves is great and helps prevent pests, be sure the water isn't sitting on leaves. Standing water on the leaves can create a disease and lead to browning. Keep the plant in warm temperatures, above 60 degrees Fahrenheit.
