Within 3-4 uses, the tips at the end of the ribs started breaking off. I noticed they were soldered together very poorly. I used tape to hold the ends together. After several more uses, the umbrella stopped opening completely. Half the umbrella would open while the other half jammed up. Now, one of the joints between the stretcher and the rib has broken and poked through the underside of the umbrella. This turned out to be a costly piece of junk. After 4 months of occasional use, it is useless. And I will say that the way this one looks when it's rolled up still seems odd to me, but my god, it's so functional! I live in Ohio, where spring is just a constant barrage of cold rain and wind. This umbrella is incredibly helpful for dealing with these conditions and I am so happy that I decided to buy it. It opens and closes easily, it's lightweight, and the design on the inside makes me hate everything just a little bit less.
