I typically wouldn't go above 10 or 11 on the high end and I'd try to stay in the 40's on the low end. But each brand will have their own gauges so I'd look around at brands like Earny Ball and D'addario **Q: What is the life of these? D'addario and others rust in a day or break on me.** A: Excellent. These do not rust up on me like Ernie Balls. They have a great sound to them as well. They bend easily. I just upgraded my Chinese made B. C Rich Warlock with black Guyker locking tuners and a roller bridge and strung it up with these strings. I still need to upgrade the nut, but I'm leaving that to the luthier. I recommend these strings, so far. They have a good crunch to them.
