I'd say about 10 pounds for the chair and 15 for the table. They may be light but they are bolted down pretty good. **Q: Is the top padded?** A: Yes. The top is padded. There's a spongy cushion under a synthetic black covering. It's not the best surface for writing, so if I'm going to use a ballpoint pen, I like to write on top of a clipboard or on top of a hardcover book.
