It is made from sturdy plastic and it feels solid when it is set up. The cutting blade is all but hidden, making an accidental cut very unlikely. It operates smoothly and effortlessly. There is a dial to set the thickness of the slices, so there's no need to change parts. It cleans easily and folds flat for easy storage. I've only had it for a short time, but so far I have found nothing negative. I would buy this again.

I was impressed with the mandolin slicer. The blade is sharp and cute through potatoes like butter. It made quick work of the scalloped potatoes for Thanksgiving dinner. It cleaned up easily and stores nicely. It is light weight and easy to handle and the suction cups keeps it in place while using.
