If it bumps into anything it automatically switches its direction and it keeps moving. It works great on hard surfaces and not so well on carpet. The battery life has lasted a long time so far it’s been used a few times a week for over a month and it is still bright and moving around. The value for the money is pretty great because it’s definitely built with durability in mind. It’s been thrown a few times as well as driven itself off the counter or table after the baby tried it out.
