Review: Excellent Welder for Home Use - I went for a number of years without a welder at home but I have had 3 welding repair jobs come up in the last several months that pushed into buying the BILT HARD 135A 3-in-1 IGBT Inverter Welder. The last mig welder I had was a Hobart Handler 110 volt with gas shielding that I sold 20 years ago because I could do welding at work if I needed to. The Bilt Hard beats that old Hobart hands down because the synergistic control function balances wire speed, voltage and amperage for optimum welding. Using the Hobart I was always having to cut the wire because it would get to long or two short until I adjusted the welder for the material I was running. The gloves that came with the welder are very comfortable but are a little stiff which made it hard for me to depress the trigger. The welding helmet worked well. Assembly was a little painful because of the lack of instructions. The combo welding hammer / Wire brush is trash. Just plan on buying a real wire brush and a chipping hammer. Excellent price.

The Bilt Hard beats that old Hobart hands down because the synergistic control function balances wire speed, voltage and amperage for optimum welding. Using the Hobart I was always having to cut the wire because it would get to long or two short until I adjusted the welder for the material I was running. The gloves that came with the welder are very comfortable but are a little stiff which made it hard for me to depress the trigger. The welding helmet worked well. Assembly was a little painful because of the lack of instructions. The combo welding hammer / Wire brush is trash. Just plan on buying a real wire brush and a chipping hammer. Excellent price.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice little welder, with a few issues **See EDIT below**

I've gotten off to a shaky start with this little welding kit. First, the welder arrived without the spool of welding wire that's supposed to be included. After some discussion with the seller and photos to document the condition of the welder and the box it came in, he processed a credit in an amount to buy some wire. Then I found that the spool of wire would not fit on the spindle when using the spacer, spring, washer and provided wingnut. The threaded spindle is simply not long enough to catch even a couple of threads on the wingnut, and in addition, the threaded liner of the wingnut is slightly recessed, making it necessary for the spindle to be a little longer to engage the threads. The wire is standard 2lb, 0.030 flux core MIG wire, made by Yeswelder, a popular brand. And yes, I've owned a similar welder in the past, so I have some experience with these things. I went to a hardware store and bought a M5 wingnut, in the hope it would engage the threads better, and it did. The problem now is that the wings of the wingnut stick up higher than the one provided with the welder, meaning the access door won't close. I'm considering drilling a hole in the door to clear the wingnut. I was finally able to get the wire advanced through the cable and verify that the welder does function. The default settings were too hot and the wire speed too fast, but I'll work on that. I don't do stick welding right now, but I'll also add that the stinger jaws looked nasty, almost like they'd been used and burned. I'll replace it if I start doing stick. The welder settings will have to be tweaked to get a good weld, but it does seem to have plenty of power and it does transfer metal well. It's also a compact and good-looking unit. I wish it had a printed guide inside the door for metal gauge and recommended settings like some others, but the automated settings will do for most jobs. The helmet that came with the welder is "okay" for light use, but it has one flaw - the darkness setting knob rotates very easily, and you will want to check it every time you use it. I set it on 12 and when I did a test weld it was light, and I saw that the knob had twisted around to 10. The knob needs more resistance to rotation. Assembling the helmet's head band can be a challenge. Not sure why it didn't come assembled. The gloves are okay, but very stiff and will need lots of break-in. The chipping hammer and brush are garbage, so plan to include those with your welder order, along with some welding sleeves and other protection. All in all, it's good that the kit came with the bare necessities to get the buyer welding. I'll be interested in seeing how this machine pans out in the coming weeks. In the meantime, I'm deducting one star for things beyond the seller's control. **EDIT** Seller TOPUL has been exceptionally helpful and generous in addressing my issues, and has extended a completely acceptable solution. Many sellers would ignore an occasional unfavorable review, but TOPUL reached out to me on more than one occasion and worked to make me satisfied with the purchase. Sometimes the seller is as important as the product, and this is one of those cases. You can buy with confidence from TOPUL.
