## Description

This heavy-duty polyester fabric grow tent has commercial zippers, and offers a way for you to have something like your own greenhouse inside your home. The right grow tent enables you to raise vegetables such as beans, eggplants and tomatoes, and many other plants at any time of the year. City-dwellers living in cramped spaces, or those who do not have a backyard or another place to raise plants outside their homes will find grow tents to be the perfect space-saving devices for indoor gardening. A grow tent, also known as a dark room grow tent, is also suitable if you are going to germinate or grow seeds hydroponically. Hydroponics is the method of growing plants without the need for compost or soil, so the process is not as messy as when soil is used. All you need is water and the nutrients that the plants require. The benefits of grow cabinet gardening do not stop with the availability of fresh vegetables and fruit for city and apartment dwellers. It has also been found that gardening is an enjoyable task, and many doctors are even prescribing it to their patients for stress relief. Looking at the beautiful plants growing and their fruits emerging and developing has definite therapeutic effects. Thus, more and more people are turning to gardening as a pastime.

    Very impressed

*by C***N on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on October 28, 2012*

As the title implies, this tent is very much worth the money. Easy assembly once you figure it out, bottom zippers unzip all the way until about an inch around the back corners, this is very important in that its necesscary to get the tent over the frame. The tent itself is perfectly light proof and very durable. The vent pictured is 6", there are two more, one on the top left and another on the back top-left corner, also 6". My only complaints would be the lack of holes for electrical cords to get into the tent, I use the lower vent hole and vent through the top and back. Comes with a drip tray that is also mylar. All plastic pieces seem sturdy. Some may not like that all vents are on the left, this however works perfectly for my set-up so I can't complain :)

Great small size tent, Great Aviditi Quality

*by D***S on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on December 11, 2012*

This is the second tent I have bought from Aviditi. The first one I purchased is close to a year old and still holding up great. The tent measures pretty true to specs on here; about 3 feet by 20 inches by 5 feet tall. My first tent was a 4 foot by 4 foot by 7 foot. For my personal needs, I would have gone with the smaller tent to start off with instead of the bigger one. This tent is the perfect size, I have it sitting next to my bigger tent and it's amazing how much of a spatial difference there is in how much room they take up.In terms of looks, this tent looks like a wardrobe. I've even had a friend ask if it WAS a wardrobe. My bigger tent looks like a grow tent.As far as functionality, the tent has three 6" openings with socks and strings to cinch them tight. You could also use 4" fittings (that's more for what the cinch string is for, 6" fittings fit comfortably snug in there with little to no light penetration, especially with the length of the sock.) The top opening has a right angled sock on it (not that it matters, I managed to cram a 6" in-line can fan in there with a few grunts.)The inside is lined with a very good reflective lining on the inside top and bottom. There is a reflective lined "drip tray" which is the fabric material that stretches the length of the bottom of the tent and attaches to the corner posts with velcro, it's a few inches tall, and helps keep excess runoff water and liquids contained. Please note, this thing is NOT waterproof or leakproof; it's simply an extra safeguard to help prevent water from dripping out any seams in the tent bottom lining. The drip tray can and will leak if you have any standing water around the edges where the seams are. You could probably waterproof the seams up with a waterproofing spray if you wanted to go the extra mile, but the trick is to not torrential flood your plants. It works well enough in any case, I haven't had anything leak outside of the tent as of yet to date. There are two cross bars on the top of the tent that snap into place with thick plastic snap connectors. They seemed pretty heavy duty to me, I'm not sure how others had problems with theirs. They will snap into place with a little pressure and are VERY stout and tight in there. I have a 400W HPS with a reflector and a fan hanging from it and I don't at all feel like anything could possibly fall or snap or break. I have a little trick I use as well that some may find useful, get a few bungee cords and weave them back and forth through the top bars. You can hang ANY light fixture or just about anything from the bungee cord, bypassing the beams, but still utilizing them in the support with the bungee. That way you are utilizing the entire frame of the tent + the cross beams. May give you some peace of mind if you are hanging a light with a hood or something heavier (like a carbon scrubber.)Speaking of carbon scrubbers, most 6" inch carbon scubbers will not fit very comfortably in this tent; would highly recommend a 4" scrubber if you are using them. The zippers are stout and don't feel cheap to me. The vertical zipper zips from the bottom to the top. The bottom and top zippers zip from the inside to the outside respectively. It's nice to be able to just take a quick peak if you have to.There are two passive air intakes that have flaps on them on the bottom of the tent. The flaps all stay down enough for me; but if you are absolutely worried about light leak or air leaks, you can duct tape them shut very easily. There are some very minor pinhole light leaks around some of the seam areas, but having never personally stitched heavy canvas or fabric with a big needle before; I can't quite say if this is normal or not. I've read a lot of reviews of other tents and it seems there's someone always complaining about pinhole leaks. I will say this, in almost a year of having the bigger Aviditi tent and having nearly 4 flowering harvests, not a single one of those pinholes or passive air intake openings or anything other spot where a minute amount of light getting in has EVER caused any damage, slow down, or otherwise to any of my flowering plants, and this is with ambient light from the windows shining in and ceiling lights on. A small amount of ambient light is not going to stunt your plants or cause adverse reactions to your plants, especially when you're talking being diffused through a hole the size of a needle. The tent puts together VERY quickly. With two people it was up in under 10 minutes, and most of that was spent separating the different lengths of support bars (all of which were nicely labeled.) It helps to unzip the tent shell completely and lay the floor of it flat on the ground, then set the completed frame on top of it, then pull the tent shell over the frame (like a imagine you are peeling a banana, just do it in reverse.)Tent came with an extra plastic corner piece as well. It's not hard to find replacements online either, and reasonably priced. If you were handy with canvas and a needle, you could VERY easily make your own custom tent to spec with PVC pipe and these fittings.I would definitely recommend this tent to anyone starting out who is looking for a good small sized tent for a couple of plants. You can easily fit three 2 1/2 gallon pots in the tent. There is plenty of room for raising your lights, room for small fans for air flow, plenty of openings for any exhausts or in-line equipment you want to use. The tent sits tight and snug and feels very solid.

Sturdy tent, light leaks around zipper seams

*by A***X on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on August 26, 2014*

This tent is a good size for the space I had, and it is sturdy enough to support a reasonable amount of weight from the top bars. My issue with it is that the zippers really do not close tightly at the seams and there are some light leaks along the zipper seams. For the price, this tent is pretty good. But if you are going to have it in an area where you wont be able to control outside light, I would spend more for a more lightproof tent.
