When I started with it, one capsule was a bit too strong for my sensitive alimentary canal, so I divided the capsule in half into an empty capsule, at least for beginning this protocol again, and take it with food. I've taken caprylic acid before and found it to be burning in my stomach, and this acted the same, so I want to be careful. Editing my review after taking it for a while, I can take two capsules a day now. I can say now that it has greatly helped calm my intestines. Along with a low-sugar low-carb diet, the carprylic acid has greatly decreased gas colic and gas toxicity, from what I have assumed to be an infestation of sugar-eating yeast and bacteria. I will continue taking it, because it seems to be curing my suspected SIBO and IBS. My husband recently decided to try it, and seems to be obtaining relief from a long-standing sinus problem that he now suspects might be thrush caused by diabetic high-sugar in his system.
