Directions were adequate but a couple areas it was a bit of a brain twist to make sure the part was going on the right way or in the right place. All the parts were well marked and all the screw holes lined up with the predrilled locations which was a plus. The construction material is soft wood, old style roofing and they give you plenty of hardware. The hinges are pretty flimsy and I may upgrade those down the road. but for intents and purposes, this fits the bill well. I did add wood glue to all the components that were screwed together to add additional structure support. The coop looks good completed, I just am not a fan of the soft wood for projects like this. I had to drill an access hole to run a heat plate cord through and my bit did a nasty chew up job on the wood...but it is what it is. But, we are very happy with this coop. we intend to use it only as a chick pen until they are old enough to be housed with the older hens. We will also use this as a quarantine pen should any of the hens need to be separated.
