You can buy desalinators on Amazon for around $250- $300 that can make drinkable water from salt water. Unfortunately, Life Straws cannot remove salt or dangerous chemicals from contaminated water. **Q: It says UP TO 1000 liters, since you're not measuring your water and it depends on how bad the water is, how do you know when it has reached its limt?** A: Take a 1 liter jar, fill it with water, now draw out the water using the straw a mouthful at a time.
