Some of the colors fray more readily than others - these thin white elastic bits start popping out. They can be trimmed off or, since I'm pretty grey now, I don't really bother since it'll all blend in anyway! Even the stretched out ones keep enough stretch that you just have to wrap them one more time and they do the job. I haven't used the other colors so I will have to see if it the same with those.5 stars: The large black ones: I love these. They are so hard to find in a store and when I do, I'm paying $2 for 3-5 of them. I have thick, long natural hair and these work perfect. Any other elastic would break on me with the first use or lose elasticity due to the hair products that I use.
