I have combined it with a couple of cook knives to complete my knife drawer. The bread knife doubles up as a carving knife and both edges cut well. I am still getting used to it as it seems I have developed a habit of putting my forefinger in what would be the top edge of the knife while slicing bread, but with this knife, it is another sharp edge! The carving edge makes a good job of carving chicken and there is a forked end for spearing the slices and putting them on a plate. I love the small straight-edged knife in particular. It is perfect for slicing apples etc where a large knife is too cumbersome and dangerous. I'm not as keen on the little serrated knife. I don't like having to use a sawing action to get through fruit and veg. I prefer a smooth slicing action. Overall though, good value for money and they will last years.
