There are accessories that you could change out, etc, but not needed to get started. The truck is very fast but of course your can go slower with the proportional throttle and the controller works great to navigate around objects with a knob to make the turns. I drove through grass and over stones and didn't get stuck. You can buy extra lithium batteries for it on Amazon for about $8 each, in case you wanted to drive it for an extended time.
