Review: Fun and stylish walkies platform - I went with the FR20z in red. A very slick looking treadmill. It was very easy to assemble despite the instructions very basic. The controls are easy to operate. One issue I have is first turning it on since the screen is empty and the buttons are unlit when powered down. I recommend putting as little sticker next to the stop button as that is the best button to tap to power it back on. The other issue is the hand rails for me tend to hit my hands when I walk since I'm not on the tallest side. You can learn to control you hands, but something to be aware of. That doesn't bother me much. I generally to 20-30 minute sessions at low speeds 3-4Mhz, and it is a very comfortable to walk on. It is not loud, and the motion is smooth. I've used to bluetooth functionality to connect my treadmill to VR to go on virtual walks since this supports FTMS. The lack of cup holders might turn off some, but I've worked around that by wall mounting a cupholder next to the treadmill. Overall I'm very pleased.
Review: High-end quality, lots of features for the money - This is a terrific treadmill, way under-reviewed as of my purchase! I was looking for a sturdy unit that had a higher max weight capacity so that it can survive my family's daily use, including myself whose weight would be around the max weight of most of the cheap units. At this price of just a few hundred dollars more than the cheap units, it has virtually everything you will ever want in a treadmill! Having owned very expensive "high end" treadmills before, the Jet 300 is a veritable bargain that seems to be going unnoticed! A treadmill is a serious piece of exercise equipment--a bad one can turn it into a big headache that takes up a lot of room in your house, and it's not like a cell phone--you can't just trade it in every couple of years to get new features you didn't get the first time. You need to think about what you'll need down the road. You just want to walk? You'll eventually want to run. Don't need "fancy" things like auto-incline? You'll eventually want more resistance. Don't need a wide or long tread? Wait until you start running! If you stick with it, you'll be amazed how quickly your body improves! I'm talking weeks, not months or years. You may not drop lots of weight, but your heart and endurance improves much quicker than you think. Don't get stuck with a $500 treadmill that you might outgrow in 3 months! Now, about the treadmill: PROS - I haven't found a treadmill in this price range or below that has its full list of features-- - High max speed--up to 12 mph - Auto-incline, - Wide and long deck with excellent heavy-duty shock absorption that's not too springy - High max weight--308 lbs - Built-in heart-rate monitor with easy to access thumb controls for changing speed and incline on the hand grips; I liked that the grips are perpendicular to your body, natural like a bike handle - Easy to use control dashboard that's not too high, with function buttons located closer to you - Very gentle start and stop - Bluetooth integration included! Works great! - The Reebok Fitness app is great, and it's free, unlike that iFit scam NordicTrack tries to push you into for $$$. The free app can not only provide controls for the treadmill, it has a map-routing feature that lets you choose any two points on the map to simulate your run! It's integrated with Apple Map (on iPhone), so you can even change the view from street map to satellite view, and even street view, and it auto-updates as you run. It can read your heart rate from either the treadmill or from your Apple Watch if you have one. If you want fancier features like video-based training and routing and such, you can subscribe to Kinomap. - Lots of audio integration options - Bluetooth, USB, etc. - Soft deck lift and lowering - almost effortless, and very safe CONS -- not a lot, but some important ones to note: - The Reebok Fitness app has a great map routing feature, but it states that the auto-incline feature is disabled in the U.S. Why? Are they intentionally crippling it, or is there an issue with not having access to terrain data? This would have been a killer feature on a free app! It obviously works outside of the U.S., so it's not a limitation of the treadmill or the app, so I presume it's an unfortunate market decision to cripple the product. - It's got a big footprint even when folded. I wish the folding deck could be folded a bit higher. I think it's due to the way the hydraulic support for the deck lift is attached. With the deck folded, it really doesn't save a whole lot of floor space. The only thing it's good for is to vacuum clean under the deck. And, of course, you have to fold it to move the treadmill. - This is HEAVY! almost 200 lbs., and it's wide. Not really a con, but it means it's not as mobile as the cheap lighter treadmills out there. The weight is mostly due to the beefy frame that's needed to support the max weight capacity. But with the deck not folding "flatter" vertically, it makes moving it around difficult. This is NOT something you can easily move to a corner when you're not using it. - Small wheels - this is meant to be rolled on a hard surface or a very thin carpet like carpet tiles. You will not likely or easily be able to roll this around and into position on a high-pile carpet or rug. - User guide - for a quality product like this, this is the stupidest thing they did. It's a one-page guide that crams the information for their entire line of sports equipment, in something like 6-point font. Furthermore, it's a massive multi-fold sheet of paper that has that one page in a dozen different languages. I mean, really, they couldn't spend one more dollar/euro/quid to make a booklet with legible font size??? Assembly: - Easy. Instructions are non-lingual, like Ikea diagrams. Just a handful of bolts and washers, and a few screws. The "hardest" part was assembling the control dashboard, which comes in 3 modular pieces, and requires 5 bolts and 4 screws, and you connect the wires. Note: the assembly diagram doesn't tell you that the two black cables can be connected to either of the mating black cables interchangeably. They are for the heart rate monitor. - Tip: use your own screwdriver, and not the one that's included--you'll save about 10 minutes of assembly time on that alone--trust me. The hex/allen wrench they provide is fine, though. About desertcart delivery: - Delivery was really fast for me., maybe they had one at the nearby desertcart distribution center. The contracted deliverers brought it to my house on schedule, on time. It's free to have them bring it inside the front door. Any further and it's not free. It's a big box--they dropped it, upside down, onto the ground while unloading from the truck. Fortunately, no damage done--it's well-packed, and it's built like a tank. Make sure you can watch it being unloaded, though. Final note: I don't know how well this product is supported by Reebok, now or in the future. Then again, I can't imagine it would be any worse than the various Chinese brands/sellers sold on desertcart. It's something to add to your consideration.
