It performs really well by keeping sound confined. I use it around my subwoofer box in my room & it keeps the base from penetrating the floor beneith me. At first appearance it looks like foam padding but it's way more durable & thicker. It's not hard to cut through but when you do you can tell hoe dense it is. I think it looks alright too. The paper backing peals off so I can stick it anywhere I want & It hold where it sticks. 16 x 60 x1 inches is big enough for my needs.
