All I had to do was select it from the list of devices on my phone. The volume dial is a round dial on the left that moves up and down, respective to increasing and decreasing the volume. The volume can get pretty loud, so be careful. I set it up outside of my thick glass shower door, and I can hear it clearly with the shower running on high pressure. The portability and size of the speaker is perfect! It's compact enough to fit on a backpack or attached to you without adding excess bulk. The bungee style cord attached is extremely durable and made to bring with you on any adventure. The battery life is solid, you can get up to 10 hours on a single charge.
