I'm just a casual weekend runner who needed a new pair of shorts. I've been wearing a 7" inseam for the past few years, but did't like the feel of of the leg hem hitting mid-thigh, so I'm trying out a 3" inseam, and so far I'm loving these (after trialling and rejecting several other brands). The construction is first-rate, and the fit is perfect. (I'm 6'1", 185 lbs, with a 33" waist jean-size--I ordered the Medium, and it's just right!). You can see from the pocket outline in the first photos that there is *some* transparency through the single layer of fabric, but I'm wearing compression shorts underneath, and modesty remains completely intact. There is some give in the fabric, but I wouldn't call it "stretchy." Just enough flexibility so it doesn't grab or pull at full stride.
