The costume has multiple Velcro straps down the back to help close it over my kid's regular clothes. Those are easy to put and take off. Sonic's head and tail are also attached to the main costume via Velcro. For the head it makes sense because your kids might want to run around and then the head doesn't fall off. The tail I didn't understand, though. The only way to attach it is to use the Velcro strip, but why would it be detachable in the first place? I ended up asking my mother in law to sew it in place because it kept falling off and my son got upset. The overall fit is true to size, and the material is a bit thick and warm, though it is not suitable to wear as the only clothes for your kid. The quality was not the best, because after just one wash, some of the seams came undone and I needed it fixed.
