On nighttime setting is whisper quiet yet provides a light movement of air across the room. At the next setting up (low) it is still probably quiet enough to sleep with (unless you are a very light sleeper) but provides a significant increase in airflow. Our bedroom is 15 x 12ft and the low setting is all we use at night having put the fan on a higher setting for a short while beforehand to cool the room down initially. At other settings the noise increases a bit but you won't be using those at night in the bedroom so thats not an issue. High setting clears the hot air from our conservatory in just a couple of minutes. It may be a bit big and obtrusive but as I tend to sleep with my eyes closed it doesn't bother me ;) .... I live in the uk** A: It doesn't need a transformer. It's 220/230 V AC, the same as the UK. It is fitted with a European plug. So, this is easily cut off and fit a UK three pin plug.
