Unlike some lights with soft/electronic controls, I can set the brightness with a physical knob, turn them on with the switch, set the brightness with the mechanical knob, then turn them on and off from a distance with an outlet strip. Since the brightness control is a mechanical knob, they come on at the same brightness. I used these in my latest video production. There is no way to adjust the color but I find the color temperature good for video and photography. When not used for video I use one on a mechanical timer to wake up a brooder stack of baby peacocks in the morning!
