George Condo: Existential Portraits Hardcover – 1 Jun. 2006

A good text book on Condo. This artist is all about sensationalist pictures - cartoons and portraits twisted with a very dark populist imagery which has also some Picasso influences. Altogether he is giving the public what they want/identify with, partly because modern art is no longer understood by the man in the street. He is miles away from Basquiat for instance however trying to match his auction prices.I would shy from buying his populist art but I would buy this book, it will entertain you more than the real thing.
