Velcro n/a (since almost all vehicles have plastic sidewalls or front interiors nowadays). Smell no is a plus. Feels soft but sturdy.Slip-resistant good. Dog protection 100% as long as within the owner's eyesight 👀 supervision (Large breed dogs 🐕/puppy 🐶 will try to bite it through w/o watch regardless how tough the material is. Like our Maligator babyboy ). Padding is thick enough even comparable with our first purchase of over $110 SUV's trunk mat. The first 8 pictures are from the trunk and tail. Now he's growing bigger, and cannot be left alone in the backseat or trunk (he will bite w/o hesitation). So we decided that the front passenger seat 💺 will be his seat with a dog seat belt.
