I use a 2 liter soft drink bottle (keep the cap for transport.), wash & rinse it and fill with water. To use it, remove the cap, pop on the flexible shower head & when you squeeze the bottle, it sprays. If you attach it to a hose the same diameter as a soft drink bottle, it'll probably work but be careful of the water pressure. Using a 2 liter bottle, it does a good job of rinsing the all dirt & sand off Bernie when we leave the Doggie Park. (He weighs 40 lbs. If you have a large dog, you may need 2 bottles.) It fits fine and works well. It doesn't appear to leak and there's more than enough water in a 2L bottle to 'hose' down a mucky dog. The item is soft and rubbery. I thought it might be like the lid of a plastic bottle but it's rubbery and very flexible. Haven't tried it on any other sized bottles yet. Good, cheaper alternative than the proper dog washing 'machines' you can buy.
