I need to determine if it will fit my current 6 speed bike and axel** A: The width from bearing side to side is 350 mm, which equates to 1 and 3/8 inch. the inner side does have threads on the inside of it. Some come without threads **Q: Will it work on my 12-speed Schwinn Ranger?** A: No! This is a 7 speed freewheel. Don't think it's interchangable with a 12 speed. The original 19 years old cassette was a Shimano mf-tz21. This mf-tz500 is an upgraded 7 speed version. At £16.99 I believe it's value for money. You must get the Park tool fr1.3 (£10) removal socket to get it off. Used an adjustable wrench to get the old one off. Cleaned the area, put the new one on. Measured the old chain to the new and put that on as well.
