You can only set it for "HI or LO" No alpha tagging as well. If you're looking for a non trunking analog scanner then save your money and get the Uniden BC125AT. That is an excellent scanner at this price point. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Nice basic scanner *by W***T on Reviewed in the United States on January 21, 2013* GRE has been making high quality scanners for years, many of Radio Shacks scanners have been made by GRE. If you want a pocket size non-trunking scanner this is a good one. It has a big easy to read display and great sound. Why only 4 stars? Two reasons. If you live in any kind of large metropolis odds are you need a trunk tracking radio if you want to listen to fire and police. I bought mine to listen to marine VHF and aviation frequencies knowing I would not be able to listen to the police. The second reason is the manufacturer has gone out of business. GREAmerica says they will continue to support the radios currently in use. Realistically, with no new product they can only do that for a limited time. At around $100.00 it is a nice little scanner.
