The wood is unfinished so we painted ours with a walnut wood stain suitable for outdoor use. It’s sent flat and has to be built but take care as the wood is thin and over tightened screws could split it. We also drilled a couple of extra drainage holes. We also lined the inside with some of the protective packaging it was delivered with to hopefully protect it in the winter. So if you take care you’ll be pleased with the final result like I was. It does look very pretty once all completed. ### ⭐ Absolute rubbish *by C***S on 14 May 2022* This is the worst product we have ever bought on Amazon. Almost impossible to put together. The instructions are totally useless. Never had a problem putting items together before. The screw holes are not even drilled correctly. Very poor quality.
