I actually only needed the male connector so I have added the female one to my growing collection of assorted hosepipe fittings! The male connector allows me to directly connect a "Y" splitter to our garden tap which has an unusual 5/8" screw fitting. It has a brass Hozelock type connector fitted. The "Y" splitter is used to feed the 2 arms of our garden irrigation system. It all works a treat.
