## Description

Sauna heaters can sometimes trip residual current devices (RCDs). BS7671, Regulation 703.411.3.3 (page 212 BS7671, 2008 incorporating Amendment No1: 2011) allows these heaters to be connected to NON-RCD circuits. All wiring should comply with BS7671, the IEE Wiring Regulations 17th edition: 2008 incorporating Amendment No1: 2011. Any installation work should comply with The Building Regulations Part 'P' Fixing screws are not provided despite the instruction manual stating that they are provided.

**Q: Is the 4.5kw sauna wired to a three pin plug (13amp), and plugged into socket with 20 amp breaker?**
A: Thank you for your question. This heater requires its own 20Amp circuit, which requires a local isolator (close to the sauna, although not necessarily in the same room). The circuit is similar to an immersion heater circuit. If using a circuit breaker, it should be BSEN60898 Type B, if using an RCBO, it should comply with BSEN61009-1. You may have your consumer unit already protected by an RCD to BSEN61008-1, if so and you have a spare way, that will be sufficient protection along with a 20Amp Type B circuit breaker. Any work carried out should be by a competent person and comply with Part P of the Building Regulations, typically an electrician.

**Q: Should the heater elements go bright red when heating**
A: Hi Thank you for your question. Yes the elements go red, however if stones are in contact they absorb the heat preventing the elements going red. Once the cabin is up to temperature the thermostat switches off all the elements. Stones should always be in place. Regards Steve
