I write peas, carrots, cabbage, tomatoes, etc. on them and then look around the garden and smile, it's so apt, using knives, forks and spoons to mark out my edible plants. And they biodegrade, so I can just dig them in, no bits of horrible plastic to fish out of the soil. But as to the correct usage, to eat with - they are also great, smooth, no splinters.
