## Description

Product Description

Review: Cheapest tourbillon watch on desertcart? - I've been wanting a tourbillon watch for a long time, but wasn't willing to pay the price for one (even the ~$1,000 ones coming out of China these days). However, this one was being offered for the amazing price of 220 pounds (< $300!) so I couldn't say no. With shipping included, came to just a touch over $300 total. This must have been a pricing error; 2 minutes after I bought it I realized I should have purchased a couple at that price, but the price had jumped back up to 600 pounds. Oh well. Shipping to the USA was fast and hassle-free. For about 3 days there was no shipping date specified, but once it shipped (from Germany) it was blazingly fast - it arrived within 48 hours after the first shipping notification. The watch arrived and (so far) is working perfectly. I had thought the watch would be the black/gold version in the picture, but it was rather the all-silver steel version. No complaints at the price and I kind of like the silver better anyway. Watch arrived new, in box, and wrapped in protective plastic. Large heavy watch. Feels sturdy although as its a delicate piece of machinery i'd be very careful of banging it against anything (i.e. probably not for everyday use). It came with a card with servicing instructions and shipping address, so it can apparently be serviced (something I was concerned about as its a Chinese movement, rather than a branded Swiss movement) Very simple to wind and set time. The tourbillon (karussell) movement is very pretty to watch. I will be recording accuracy over the next few weeks to see how well it keeps time (the Hangzhou movement in it is rated plus/minus 25 seconds per day; we'll see if it meets that or not). For ~300 bucks, this was a steal. It may very well be the cheapest new tourbillon available (I haven't seen one that comes within $200 of what I paid for this). Very pleased so far! Let's hope it holds up. -----OK, i've had this about a month and a half------- The watch has been very good as an every-day wearer. It keeps decent time on the wrist; about plus or minus 15 seconds per day. If I don't wear it and leave it flat on the nightstand, it does worse. Main issue is the power reserve. Watch is spec'd for a 40 hour reserve. This is technically true; I let it wind completely down and got a hair over 41 hours. However, after about 30 hours, the watch will not keep time. It'll be within 15-20 seconds for the first 30 hours, but if you let it go to 40 it'll be 15-20 minutes slow by the time it winds down. This tripped me up once when I didn't notice and almost missed boarding a flight while sitting at the bar. So, in conclusion, this is fine AS LONG as you wind it every morning, and perhaps reset the time slightly once per week. I'm still pleased with it, particularly at the price I got it for. Also, I agree with the other reviewer that the "V" printed on the dial with arms at 10 and 2 can make this difficult to read, particularly in poor lighting. I've gotten used to them and can "tune" them out now, but would like it better if the dial was plain. Still, a decent watch.
Review: Good in parts - I thought this deserves a sensible review. Firstly, it is a genuine tourbillon unlike many that, despite their description on desertcart, are not. Many simply display the escapement wheel in a small window. The escapement wheel in a tourbillon itself revolves through 360 degrees - as this does. Even a Chinese tourbillon watch (such as this) will cost over £400. A tourbillon movement is designed to increase the accuracy of a mechanical watch. So it's ironic that the hands of this watch are hard to see and are completely overshadowed by a large "V" that suggests the time is always 10:10! My watch keeps pretty good time, but nowhere near chronometer standard. It feels fragile and unlikely to withstand rough treatment. It's said to be water resistant, but I don't trust it. The movement is not automatic and must be wound daily (be careful not to over-wind). It will probably be hard, or simply impossible, to get this watch repaired or serviced since parts are unlikely to be available. So to summarise. If (like me) you've always wanted a real tourbillon watch, this may be a good choice - if you can accept the poor legibility. If you simply want a mechanical watch that keeps good time, I suggest you look elsewhere.
