A: No, the front and back won't lay flat because of the individual pockets are connected to the covers.

A: Nope.  Just letter sized.

**Q: What about dampness for paper documents?**
A: I bought this for my daughter to have a place to store her important documents. We live in the Midwest and it is very humid here, however, we keep our home at a relatively standard temperature. Documents have not become damp in any way. We have, of course, not "tested" the folder against its claims to be fire or water resistant. It has a zipper and I would think that would be a weakness that would allow moisture in should the folder become submerged or saturated with a significant amount of water, but cannot say for sure without testing it. For the price, it it a decent, inexpensive way to keep important documents in one place.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great folder, but...

I bought two of these to keep all the paperwork for our upcoming move. They are sturdy and the zipper is quality. The folder does seem like it might be fireproof and waterproof, but I haven't tried to light it on fire or plunge it into water to test the theory. The folder has 12 tabbed dividers of thin, clear plastic, and there is enough room for manila file folders. I am able to easily fit a 350-page 8.5x11 workbook inside, so presumably I'll be able to load it with at least as many individual papers. It does the job that it is supposed to do, and well. Here's the catch though... If you have an animal that sheds, don't be surprised if every stray hair in the environment sticks to this folder. Dust loves to stick to this thing too. If you are a super-clean neatnik, this may be the folder for you. If however, you have kids or animals and are not as on top of dusting as you'd like to be (like me), this may be the folder that you throw against the wall in frustration. Maybe this is just the price that you pay for fireproofing and waterproofing; don't know, but lesson learned.
