I liked that they have a slightly sturdier sole to them to protect feet from rocky or slippery surfaces. They feel snug on the ankle thanks to the velcro strap, but I did find that they are on the larger side. I usually wear a UK size 6, which is what I ordered, and they came up quite big.I tried swimming with them and found they flapped around quite a bit, so ended up removing them midway through my swim.
