## Description

From drag strips to paved and dirt ovals, racing performance demands race-level protection. Which is why motorsport teams and enthusiasts depend on Valvoline VR1 10W-30 Synthetic Racing Motor Oil, America’s #1 racing oil. Our exclusive high zinc and phosphorus fully synthetic formula is engineered specifically for modern and classic high-performance engines both on and off the track, which includes flat-tappet and performance cam motors. It’s chemically designed to reduce internal friction and enhance power output, while protecting critical engine parts from wear under the extreme conditions of racing. While its high load carrying characteristics, minimum foaming under stress and maximum resistance to thermal degradation ensure stability and lubrication. Valvoline VR1 Synthetic 10W-30 Racing Motor Oil is recommended for high-performance gasoline engines as well as those burning full or partial alcohol fuels. It is not recommended for vehicles with catalytic converters or in wet clutches. Go with the proven winner, Valvoline. The trusted motor oil brand for over 150 years.

Review: Good oil. Does the job.
Review: Prices are affordable now, as compared to a decade ago… I prefer the full synthetic version, but would not mind running the synthetic blend version if this isn’t available. They only carry 10W-30 and 20W-50 in this full synthetic version; but if you need other heavier oil weights, such as 30W, 40W, 50W, or 60W, then you need the conventional oil blend version (comes in the silver/gray colored container). My local Autozone carries both the full synth and synth blend, but only at certain locations, and also only in 20w-50 weight. Most people don’t even bother to get it, so I’m assuming it’s aimed at classic performance/race engines (with flat tappets, etc.), which need the extra zinc and phosphorus content. I’m hoping the people with newer, modern cars (requiring oil with API SM, SN, etc. rating) know what they’re putting into their engines, and expelling through their exhaust systems… I’ve seen the specs for the zinc (ZDDP) and phosphorus content, and it’s not exactly something you’d want to run 24/7 and especially for a daily driver with OEM catalytic converters…. So do yourself a favor; if you have a NEWER, MODERN vehicle with CATALYTIC CONVERTERS, STOP using this product, or you’ll end up contaminating them in God knows when. Then you’ll throw O2 sensor codes probably (once those go bad too), and then you’ll be fixing everything from there….

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is this a full synthetic ? I notice they sell a black container also.**
A: The silver container is conventional oil and has about 1400 ppm ZDDP. The black container is full synthetic and has about 1200 ppm ZDDP. Both of these oils have exceptional shear/anti wear properties, but the high phosphorus content will foul catalytic converters over time.

**Q: Might be a dumb question but is this oil synthetic? I don't see anything on it that says it is.**
A: This oil is organic. The Valvoline 20W50 synthetic oil has a black label, and it clearly states "synthetic" on the label. I use the synthetic in my 1952 MG TD because the oil has high zinc content that is a must for older engines.

**Q: Is the $32.36 price for a case of 6 quarts?**
A: $32.69 plus shipping is the cost for 6 quarts of #211 20w50 racing oil

**Q: The date codes on the bottles are July 2013. Do you have any oil for sale that is newer? Say late 2014?**
A: I wont buy a out dated oil... unopened oil has a 2 year shelf life!
