Any new fry will take to this food. It is a very finely ground fish food, with a consistency kind of like flour. I use it for new born guppies. After about a week old, I can wean them to regular flake food if I first "grind" the flakes between my fingers. This is a prepared dry food and doesn't require further processing. The first time one of my platys had fry, I fed the babies crushed up regular food that I give my adult fish. Only one survived out of 10. I was really upset. The second time, I found out about this food and fed it to a batch of 13 babies. I fed them about 4 times a day, and it was clear they loved this food and could actually eat it with their teeny tiny mouths. Out of 13, only one died! (And I think he had swim bladder issues.) This food is just what you need to raise healthy, happy fry.
