Are these orthotic inserts firm enough to support?** A: Yes, they are firm. I use custom orthotics that I get from my running store for running/walking, and use these for my cross training. In fact, my Podiatrist really liked these because of the heel cup and the firm bed. Since not walking wasn't an option, I didn't really think there was much I could do about it. I bought new sneakers, thinking that my old ones were worn out and weren't giving me the support I needed. However, this did not make any difference. I knew I was suffering from plantar fasciitis and decided to see what options were available on Amazon. These were highly rated and inexpensive so I thought, "why not?" My expectations were VERY low. Within days of putting these into my sneakers, my foot paid was reduced to practically nothing! If I changed the shoes I was wearing, I easily moved the inserts to the new shoes, so I was basically using them all the time. This simple purchase was life changing! If you are wondering if they will work, I say give them a try! (Gives support, not cushion) *by H***G on Reviewed in the United States on January 4, 2022* I've had these insoles since September 2021 to relieve new mild plantar fasciitis (specifically heel pain) from a new job with lots of physical activity. My hiking boots were also a little big so I wanted to add an insole to make them more snug. These did the job perfectly! My shoes fit better now, and I no longer have plantar fasciitis. They are firm and well-shaped, giving great arch support. I have high arches. These are still the same shape as when I got them—they don't seem likely to flatten or wear down anytime soon. Be aware that these are not pillowy soft insoles for cushion, but rather firm insoles for support. They are great at their job, and I highly recommend.My only qualm is that they are a little small so I can feel the tip (my shoes are 9.5 and I got the 9-9.5 insole).
