I had a small area of grout that I wanted to start with to see how it worked. I had been previously using comet with bleach, making a slurry, using this with a grout cleaning brush, letting it sit for 10 minutes, cleaning it all off, then using a solution of bleach for 10 minutes, and finally cleaning this off; this process does work, but it is a lot of effort. With this new product, I made a slurry, applied it with a grout brush, let it sit for 10 minutes, wiped it off, and then finally applied a solution of vinegar to neutralize this new cleaning agent before finally wiping it off. Much easier. When the vinegar solution dried, it left the grout consistently clean (using my old method, I might have had to repeat the process in a particularly bad area).Caution: I would recommend using gloves, and this stuff is a strong base which you need to keep from drying and to fully neutralize with vinegar, which is an acid. The is instructions do tell you to do this.
