I used these on my basement floor when I installed ceramic tiles (8" x 40" tiles) and it kept the edges of each tile matched to the surrounding tiles. A little time consuming compared to those rubber Xs but once you get the hang of it, it moves as fast. Easy to break off. Again, it took me a minute to figure out the easiest way to break them but you can kick them or use a hammer and tap them---they break right off. They will fly across the room or up in your face, so protect your eyes.
