When you then cut to the line of the template the chair will fit together correctly. **Q: Could you tell me how much wood is required for one chair, and what thickness is required? Thanks** A: This was my first project and I didn't know how I would get on so I bought soft wood from the local wood yard. You need "planed" rather than "sawn". Sawn is one inch thick but planed will be thinner, as obviously some wood has been taken off. It is about 3/4 inch thick. I used this for both chairs.p (I made two in the end). The instructions tell younhownmuchnwood to buy but I reckon it cost about £50 for all the wood, allowing for some mistakes. You need screws, filler etc also plus some decent outdoor presertive stain.,I used Ronseal and it work fine, about £10. I hope this helps. Just a sheet with vague instructions and very poor and very few diagrams. No step by step instructions to assemble. It was my very first woodwork project and I am really pleased with them. The templates come on one large sheet and I found it best to cut each component out and spray mount it on card. This makes it easier to draw around the template straight onto the wood. Also, you get multiple uses out of them this way. Brilliant brilliant design. Easy for a beginner like me but look unfairly professional. You need a cheap table saw, a chop saw and a sander and it took me about 20h to do the first one. The best Adirondack design I have seen anywhere. Bargain.
