The + and _ terminals (2 little connection prongs) look identical. Plug in your first set, make certain it works. Leave it plugged in. Unscrew the black "plug in" piece from the second one. Connect the second to the first set by removing the cover from the terminal end of the first and screwing the ends together. If they stop working you have to unscrew that same end and turn the connection around so that the metal terminal connections go in the opposite hole it has the first time. They do work and they can be connected in series! **Q: How many lengths can you plug in from end-to-end?** A: You can plug many if you need. We suggest 5 better. Once you have enough, they’re reliable, weather-resistant, and very eye-catching. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review *by B***G on 12 December 2017* I was hesitant about buying these lights because some people complained that when you string them together, there is not enough power from the transformer to light up more than one string. Indeed, I found that to be the case when I joined my second string. However, i tried pushing the plug connection tighter together, and with a little manipulation, the second string of lights did light up! Similar problems happened with each successive string, but in the end, all 5 strings lit up brightly (see my video). In my case, what I needed to do was push the plugs in REAL TIGHT to make the added string light up. Also, the icicles are all powered by its own IC chip. So while they will all start blinking at the same time, they will eventually go out of sync to produce a random pattern like in my video. Finally, make sure the transformer is protected from the elements - it is not waterproof.
