I'm also 46 years old. Ordered a 3x based on my experience with Asian sized clothing. Pulled it out of the package and wasn't sure what to think. It's basically a huge rectangle in terms of cut. However, the colors are gorgeous and the hidden draw string at the waist makes all the difference. You can leave the tied end showing, or tuck it in. The 3/4 length sleeves can be left as they are, and they do have a button closure, or you can use the tab to hitch them up to your elbows like the photo. Fabric is light and has some very nice movement to it.I personally will be wearing this with a western belt and my boots later in the year when it's time to put away the bright and light colored clothes of summer and wear something more 'fallish'. However, in this area, the weather often stays hot until November, so this will be perfect for those warm autumn days.All in all, I was pleasantly surprised. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Dress is cut small but the design is beautiful *by D***Y on August 28, 2018* The dress is beautiful and I intend to keep it. However, knowing that it is sized according to Chinese sizes, I ordered an XXL, thinking that 2 sizes up from my normal XL would be sufficient. I'm 5'3", 195 lbs and was looking for a flowy dress to use as an over-drape to some of my spaghetti strap dresses. It will work for that but it will not button up by about 2 inches on each side. Also, the color in the photo of "Lake Blue" is actually a turquoise blue. Again, the dress is stunning and worthy of keeping but I'm a bit sad about the fit and the color.
